  wish I could give zero stars. My first experience with CHC is a compete nightmare. I went to NP Lomeli in Cambria for GERD symptoms which have become painful. She suggested a breath test for h pylori and prescribed me Prilosec to start immediately, which I did. The next day, I drove an hour to get "labs" done in Paso, only to find out the medicine the NP prescribed the day before disqualified me from taking the diagnostic test. They said the medicine needs to stop for two weeks before I can take this test. I sat there in the paso office for over an hour while we tried to figure out what happened, and during this time I became so exasperated and worried about coming back to work late from my lunch hour, I started to feel very upset and I began to cry. When that happened, a nurse named Ilene looked me in my eye and laughed. She was really enjoying seeing me upset. It was funny to her. Having someone laugh at you while you're crying is very demeaning and hurtful. After an hour we finally got in touch with the NP who admitted to me she made a mistake and was sorry. She asked me to come by her office later that afternoon to get a stool sample kit, less reliable than the breath test, and I could drive to Morro bay Monday and do the test that way. I go to her office to pick up the cup for stool sample, at the drs instruction, missing more work. Surprisingly, When I arrived, a random woman named Corinne, the "office manager" escorted me to a back room and proceeded to defend that the NP did "nothing wrong" and she was "just trying to help me feel better" by giving me the medicine. She also argued that "the phone never rang here" while we were calling them from Paso, and gave excuses as to why it took them an hour to respond. It was excuse after excuse. With no attention to solving the problem. She was cold, uncaring and accused me of "belittling her" when I was simply trying to express (and wanted her to acknowledge) that the NP made a mistake. After only a few minutes of talking, which became arguing quickly on her part, She escorted me out of the office saying "Come on, let's go. I'm not doing this anymore" in a forceful manner. She went from zero to 100 in a matter of minutes. After she escorted me to the front door, I refused to leave before speaking with the NP, and she finally backed off because the patients were seeing her mistreatment of me and we were no longer locked in the back room. It was very upsetting and I was appalled that they didn't want to take the steps to provide me reasonable care and compassion. Especially after sending me on a wild, distant goose chase that took me away from my work and cost me unnecessary funds and stress. I left feeling rejected, panicked, humiliated, confused, and having extreme doubts about the competency of this organization. The manager at paso (I didn't get her name but she was short with glasses and blonde hair) was the only helpful person throughout the whole thing. She treated me with patience and was proactive in solving the problem. Ilene and Corinne are horrible health care workers and should not be in this business. Their treatment of me was almost sociopathic. The NP who made a mistake at least was apologetic, but was also rude, asking "Are you done?" when speaking over the phone then hanging up on me. Overall I will avoid this health care system at all costs. They clearly don't care about their patients and if they make a mistake, you will be challenged/ridiculed instead of them admitting and making it right. This serious error is going to cost me weeks of pain and GERD. And the way I was treated today was honestly traumatizing. I already suffer from anxiety and these "professionals" made this day one of the worst I've had in awhile. I would have a strong litigation case with these errors. Corinne especially is a liability to the organization and the most hot tempered health care "worker" I've ever encountered. She treated me like a criminal. AVOID this incompetent organization, especially the Cambria and Paso Robles locations, AT ALL COSTS.
